RE: <MISC>EDI INT AS2 Licensing Question

Hi Darcy:
Have you found an answer for this issue? We run an EDI service bureau and
we are going to have to face this as well for several of our customers who
do EDI with Walmart. Currently we dial BSC, pick up from multiple mailboxes
and everything is fine. I am wondering if we will need to dedicate a
separate PC for each of our AS2 clients, so each can have a NATed address on
the internet that Walmart can send to?
I am curious as to what you have learned.
Regards,
cjg

Subject: [EDI-L] <MISC>EDI INT AS2 Licensing Question
All-
We have a customer that is a food broker for multiple companies doing
business with Wal-Mart. The broker's customers are small food producers for
whom they do the EDI/E-C. The iSoft EDI INT AS2 (HTTPS batch mode) product
for the $300 per user license is being used. It works very well.
As the broker transmits for several companies, they've recently learned they
cannot purchase several $300 licenses. iSoft responded, "Wal-Mart's
agreement is with the vendor only." Instead they must purchase an expensive
full license. (Theoretically, they could install it on separate machines
and none would be the wiser, as long as they changed their voice when
talking to iSoft. However, since it's 4 degrees here and most people have
colds disguising would be difficult.)
I am writing to learn if others have experienced this challenge and found a
solution other than purchasing a full license. Please send me your
suggestions.
(Sales reps: you may contact me by email.)
Thank you for your assistance,
-Darcy
