Re: <MISC> Heard on the street
During the mid-late 90's there were many acquisitions / consolidations in
the EDI industry. Sterling, GE / GXS, Harbinger and others modified their
product line with the help of acquisitions and divestitures. Between 1995
and 2000 Harbinger bought quite few EDI / eCommerce related companies. They
include: SupplyTech (Windows EDI), Extricity (Integration), Smart Solutions
(ASN / Bar coding), Pemenos (AS/400) and many more.
I believe that in April of 2000 Peregrine bought Harbinger. Mid last year
Peregrine sold the eCommerce pieces and created Inovis. I am not sure how
the sale was timed in conjunction with the Peregrine Chapter 11.
Inovis is going though reorganization. Many companies in the technology
(especially eCommerce) sector have gone through some type of reshuffling
over the past 24 months. I believe Inovis has a fine product line, a
talented staff and a fairly happy install base. Over time, I believe they
have a bright future. I wish them the best of luck!
