Subject: <SALES> ANSI EDI View/Edit/Printing Tool released

February 14, 2002

Tal Systems, Inc. of Racine WI is pleased to announce the release of the EDI
Pal™ANSI EDI Tool version 2.0.

The EDI Pal Tool is low-cost Windows® desktop software which parses any file
containing ANSI ASC X12 data. The parsed file is displayed in an intuitive
'tree' structure; the user may select any item in that tree - interchanges,
functional groups, transaction sets, loops, segments or data elements - for
viewing, editing or printing. The separately-licensed Implementation Kits
further parse a transaction set into a complete hierarchical structure of named
loops.

Intended Users

a.. EDI professionals or software developers with a need to create or modify
ANSI ASC X12 test data.
b.. Support personnel who need to review partner-supplied files in an
easy-to-read format.
c.. Users who need to 'repair' a defective file when re-generation is not a
convenient option.
d.. Anyone needing to 'unwrap' a file containing wrapped ANSI EDI data
e.. Anyone who needs to extract single transaction sets, functional groups or
interchanges from a larger input, with or without editing, and re-envelope them.

Viewing-Editing Features

a.. FIND/FIND NEXT - find occurences of search text in data using the familiar
'Ctrl-F' and 'F3' keys.
b.. COPY - Copy any element, segment, loop, transaction set (ST thru SE
segments), functional group (GS-GE) or interchange (ISA-IEA) to the Windows
clipboard as a series of unwrapped segments.
c.. DELETE TRANSACTION/GROUP/INTERCHANGE. Within any file, entire
interchanges, functional groups or transaction sets may be deleted with a single
keystroke and with confirmation.
d.. EDIT/INSERT/DELETE SEGMENT/ELEMENT - Within any transaction, a new segment
may be inserted or any existing non-envelope segment deleted; any element of any
segment may be edited.
e.. SAVE/SAVE AS - the user may specify if the file is to be saved in any one
of three wrapped or unwrapped formats. Envelope trailer segments may be
automatically adjusted for control totals and envelope control number matching.
f.. PRINT/PREVIEW - For any selected item, print the entire "tree" associated
with that item to an online print viewer; from there, print on any printer
available to the using computer.
This software does not include ANSI standards information and does not perform
ANSI editing.
