RE: bTrade AS2 free software to connect to Walmart

Susanna:
I have not used the bTrade software, but have installed the iSoft.
When asking for your address and port, this is the external IP address or
URL that can be used to get to your AS2 server. The port number is assigned
by you, can be any port, as long as it can be accessed thru your firewall.
As far as being behind your firewall, no problem with that, actually
recommended, however there are some firewall rules that you must follow.
The AS2 server I installed did not have a firewall, I placed the AS2 server
in the router DMZ, and then loaded zone alarm on the server to exclude all
IP address except the range that Walmart uses and iSoft for testing.
You will need to put the AS2 server behind the firewall and open up the port
number that the AS2 server listened on (see above). You will also have to
have some way to NAT or forward requests on the external port to the
internal AS2 server.
What firewall are you using. The iSoft documentation comes with some nice
"firewall rules" that explains what ports have to be open and what IP
address that Walmart uses.
Good Luck.

Subject: [EDI-L] bTrade AS2 free software to connect to Walmart
I am trying to register online at bTrade to download their free AS2 software
that is pre-configured for Wal-Mart. They are asking for the HTTP URL (their
help says "Enter the http address for your AS2 server"). They also ask for
the HTTP Port (their help says "Enter the port number that your AS2 server
will listen")? Are they talking about my URL and port or Wal-Mart's?
Also, can I put the AS2 software (that I will download) behind my firewall?
I need to answer these questions before I can continue to register (they
said the registration would take 5 minutes). If I knew what they were
asking, it probably would take 5 minutes.
Can someone help?
