EDIMatrix in the UK have a native Windows program which we claim is
'like a DOS batch file on steroids'. It is in fact a scripting language
with a command set which is specialised, for some strange reason, for
doing the sort of things you want to do in EDI operations, but it can
easily be used by anyone who can write a DOS batch script. We use it in
every installation to provide the sort of 'glue' that you are looking
for. We have designated it as Freeware, and it can be downloaded from
our web site (URL below). You need to download Wintasks from the 32-bit
Download area and the documentation of the same name from the
Documentation area. Please note that the documentation is more organic
than structured, since Wintasks has grown from a simple program
dispatcher to its present form during 10 years of reluctant feature
enhancement
