I agree with the others. They are very different.
The "visual mapper" in 5.2 is nothing like
the "application integration" mapper that you used
in the Windows product. If you have the EC Workbench
version of the product you'll have to deal with data
moving thru "data managers" and lots of unix scripting.
Although I've never used the unix Advanced Data distribution
piece, I'm betting that is not the same as the Windows
communication.

ps: I just checked the Sterling website. Gentran for unix
version 5.2 telephone support ends in August 2003.
