You are right. 99% of the trading partners are paying their share..but you
always have exceptions to the rules....We had a few customers that asked us
to pay for that & we refused. If you do it for one....you will end up to do
it for all of them. This will not apply for only you but also for your
business sector. It's so simple & pleasant when everybody play by the
rules....without asking to be the exception.

Speaking of paying a TPs VAN bill....
We have one customer that has an outsourced EDI operation. The outsourcer
bills us something like $1.50 for each transaction sent and recieved by
them. Thats on top of our VAN charges (they dont do any kind of VAN
bypass). How common is this sort of thing? I've always had the
impression that the "standard" was each party pays their own VAN bills.
Thats certainly what everyone else we've come across is doing.
