RE: <HELP> - Looking for advice on IBM Websphere

Brian,
We're still in the initial stages with the IBM products for EAI, but
general impression is they are good.
Translations are ok too (again the ease of use and speed of making a map
varies with products within IBM suite), but sometimes you have to
manipulate certain things in some ways ( as probably in all mapping
products, from IBM or not). But generally again, you can do anything if
you know how.
General EDI standards and XML are very good. But we're still nowhere on
EDI-INT, I'm still working on that. We're trying to make something
ourselves for AS1 and AS2... I was really looking forward to someone's
help here ( I still am)
And I tried it on our lawn, it won't cut the grass ( and I presume nor
will it wash the car, but I haven't tried it yet)
BTW, There are a lot of products inside IBM Websphere suite itself,Which
one are you most interested in?

Subject: [EDI-L] <HELP> - Looking for advice on IBM Websphere
Hi All,
We are looking for one tool that can do EDI, EDI-INT, XML, EAI, and ETL
that will run on a Unix server. And...we want it to wash cars and mow
the grass. I do realize that I have a long list of requirements.
However, the application that we will put in must be first rate at EDI,
EDI-INT and XML. EAI and ETL are actually a (very) nice to have.
Is there anyone in the group that uses Websphere? I would like to hear
what you think of the product. Gartner believes that it does EAI very
well, but how good is it at EDI translation (and XML translations) and
EDI-INT? How user-friendly is the mapper and to set up business
processes?
As always, thank you for your help.
