Re: Gentran and GEIS VPN SecuRemote

Brad,
I would recommend trying another VPN client for connecting to the GEIS
network. Assuming GEIS is using a CheckPoint IPSEC VPN solution, a Cisco
router should be able to provide you with a good net-to-net IPSEC tunnel
that will establish itself automatically when needed. You might also want
to consider taking a look at FreeSWAN (www.freeswan.org), a free and open
source software-based IPSEC solution for the Linux operating system. A
Cisco or FreeSWAN PSK configuration will keep the password stored. If you
have a network guru at your place, he should be rather familiar with
establishing IPSEC VPN connections using various solutions, so it might be
worth bringing him in on the project so that he can take a look at things.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
