David, that will probably just add another 248 pages that the poor guy
(gal? - "mym1961mym" doesn't give me any hints about him/her except
possibly his/her birthyear) has to read.

I would suggest that "mym1961mym" sign up for the WEDI/SNIP Transactions
listserve at http://subscribe.wedi.org/, which specializes in HIPAA
standard transaction set implementation details. "mym1961mym" should
just throw his/her question out there.

The EDI-L list is for Gumtran for OS/360 mapping questions. But I have
a question: How come Golden Commerce - the vendor of Gumtran - doesn't
maintain a support number for Gumtran users to call when they have
questions on the vagaries of this specific product?

I would suggest contacting the state Medicaid office you are working
with because they probably have an 837 HIPAA companion guide.
