The first step on your EDI road should be to define what your
requirements are before you make any decisions. I would put together
something that looks like an RFP.

I work for a small to medium sized company that is looking to move to
electronic invoicing. We currently do electronic ordering and
receive paper invoices. If our larger suppliers can send X.12 810
transactions, would a translation package be the best option? We use
IBM RS6000/AIX servers, Windows 2000 servers, and Windows 2000
desktops.
