I ran your interchanges into the Tal Systems' Acknowledgement reporter and got

You already know why the TA1 was generated. What is a mystery to me is why you
got 'invalid control structure' on the 997
interchange you sent.

All I can think of is what happened to me when I cut and pasted your
interchanges: the size of the fields in the ISA segment were
incorrect due to line wrapping and automatic space filling.

(Was also wondering how you got "004010X098" as the version-release on a group
'PO' document. \004010X098 is group 'HC')
