Re: Inexpensive EDI solution needed

Actually, the jist of it all was that *they* didn't trust services. We had been
going EDI to fax for quite sometime and were planning on Fax to EDI for our
outgoing documents. They absolutely refused to allow it. Now, this was about 5
years ago and we're up to about 25 trading partners, some large, some small, but
still using the same basic translator. It was worth the $15,000 investment at
the time because I'm in control of what goes and when and I *know* when it's all
sent and received.
Like I said, just my .02

Did they offer any explanation for requiring you to set up this [expensive]
capability 'in house' versus using a service?
In twenty+ years working with ANSI EDI, I have never seen a partner (and I guess
we may now need to revisit the meaning of that
word!) care one whit about "how" or "where" translation was done, they've only
cared 'that' they could send and receive documents.
