[Jobs] EDI Business Analyst Job Opening

The Valspar Corporation, a global leader in the paint and coatings industry
with annual revenues of $2 billion has the opportunity for an individual to
begin their career with us as a Business Analyst in our Minneapolis
Corporate IT Department.
In this position you will be responsible for assuring timely EDI
communications, learn and understand Valspar specific EDI structure
standards and monitor trends in e-Commerce. In addition, you will perform
maintenance on day to day EDI transactions. Additional responsibilities
include updating, creating and testing EDI maps and scripts, assist in
providing continuous improvements to EDI processing, follow documentation
and coding standards as well as software documentation methodology and
assist in system development to expand communication mechanization.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,
MIS, Mathematics, Business or related area, 2+ years EDI-specific experience
required with the use of EDI Gentran products, IP-Net/AS-2 communications
tools, bank transmissions, mapping and/or scripting experience preferred.
Developed problem analysis and problem solving skills, exposure to project
methodologies and the ability to establish and build solid team and customer
relationships required, as well as the ability to work with users in
defining and documenting requirements. Developed oral and written
communication skills. Exposure to SQL, Unix, and/or other 3rd generation
structured programming languages preferred. Knowledge of EDI technical
structure and experience in manufacturing/business preferred.
