Dynamic DNS. Either by hosting your own DNS servers on multiple (separate)
connections, or by using a third-party like whyi.org, dns2go.com, etc...

All of your trading partners should be using your domainname to contact you,
anyway, so if your main connection goes out, and you have to resort to
something like dialup or ISDN, then a simple update to the Dynamic DNS
server with your new IP address corrects everything.

Doubtful, but there's no reason the company can't. EDI software packages
have more things to worry about than your internet connection. That should
be left to the network admins, IMHO.
