RE: ISA-14 Acknowlegement Request

Halfway there. The code 1 means a TA1 acknowledgement is expected. Code 0
means no TA1 is expected. In either case, the TA1 is not part of the 997.
It operates as a standalone segment within an interchange. The appropriate
location of any TA1s in the interchange is after the ISA and before any
functional groups (GS through GE structures). Their sole purpose is to
respond specifically to the interchange level (ie., ISA and IEA).
Hope that's helpful.
Best regards,

Subject: [EDI-L] ISA-14 Acknowlegement Request
Hello Group
Can anyone give a further explanation of the ISA-14 Acknowlegement request
field?
As I understand it, a 997 is generated regardless if the value is '0' or
'1'. It is generated as long as the partner requests it. Does the '1'
signify sending a 'TA1' sengment in the 997?
Thanks in advance.
