Re: Moving files between Gentran unix and Windows ftp server.

Hi there,
Good choice on the CLEO; their people there are top-notch.
You can use Samba on your HP-UX platform to allow access to the local
filesystem from Win32 machines. You can find some pre-compile binaries
via a Google search or two, or just grab the source from www.samba.org.
This is probably the most straight-forward, assuming you can get the
software installed; I don't know how your sysadmins are over there.
Alternatively, you might want to considering using some sort of Windows
NFS client. Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX seems like a good
candidate for this, and more information as avialable at the following:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sfu/default.asp
I would recommend using a pure networked filesystem approach, whether that
is using CIFS/SMB, NFS, or otherwise. I think that makes it easier to get
files from one machine to another without concern for things such as FTP
process monitoring and everything that goes along with that fun stuff.
Hope this information helps.
