maillist for Gentran Users

Subject: maillist for Gentran Users
Hi All,
There is already a Yahoo maillist for Gentran/GIS users which has a lot
of the same subscribers as this one. I would be happy to see all of
the Gentran specific questions and tips addressed towards the other
list, so that I don't have to see a lot of it twice, but for now a lot
of users are not on both, so users are hedging their bets in case the
answer may come from EDI-L instead of from edi_gentran.

This is just to let those EDI-L members who are also Gentran users know
about the other list in case they would like to participate, thereby
reducing the amount of Gentran clutter on EDI-L:

Thanks.

. . .

The EDI-L listserve is losing its focus and is in danger of falling into
irrelevancy. This reminds me of a note I received last week from
another subscriber on the list:

Hi William,

Why don't you create a Yahoo! Group for EDI-L Gentran users?
I think it would a great contribution for those of us who
don't give a rats ass about Gentran.

Of course, I don't run any Yahoo! lists. But I certainly have to say my
correspondent's sentiments are probably shared by a good number of the
EDI-L community. And many of us are probably wondering why Sterling
Commerce, Innovis, GXS, Cleo and all the others don't sponsor their own
list serves - or provide 24x7 support for their products - so the rest
of us don't have to be subjected to the hideous details of these
particular products' inner-workings. This is not to say we don't
appreciate hearing from vendors with their announcements, or even folks'
comparisons of B2B products.

But like I said, I don't run any Yahoo! lists and I don't run this
one - but I would encourage the list owner or administrator to apply
some focus to the topics that will be discussed here.
