RE: Fake Applicants

William,
The Softshare user community has created a Yahoo! group, EDI_Softshare.
This is where we discuss tech support kinds of issues. Of course, because
Softshare software is so robust, we don't need it real frequently as a
resource.
It seems that recruiters from non-US markets don't have a sense of what it
takes to create a professional post. I think that's okay, because it tells
me who NOT to respond to, if I want a job. But it makes me wonder. If the
quality of the work churned out by the outsourcing houses in the emerging
nations is of the same caliber as the postings of their recruiters, why are
U.S. companies so eager to wager their futures to save a few USD?
Maybe we could brush up on our business skills and take this industry back.
My two cents.

Subject: Re: [EDI-L] Fake Applicants
There's really no need for futher expounding, is there? Not only were
the original job postings (Cobol DB2, CICS, VSAM, JCL, IMS DB/DC, and
"Assemblers") by "abba_mainframe" totally irrelevant to a listserve
supposedly concerned with e-business standards, EAI and EDI issues, but
the follow-ups regarding "fake applicants" are too.
The EDI-L listserve is losing its focus and is in danger of falling into
irrelevancy. This reminds me of a note I received last week from
another subscriber on the list:
Hi William,
Why don't you create a Yahoo! Group for EDI-L Gentran users?
I think it would a great contribution for those of us who
don't give a rats ass about Gentran.
Of course, I don't run any Yahoo! lists. But I certainly have to say my
correspondent's sentiments are probably shared by a good number of the
EDI-L community. And many of us are probably wondering why Sterling
Commerce, Innovis, GXS, Cleo and all the others don't sponsor their own
list serves - or provide 24x7 support for their products - so the rest
of us don't have to be subjected to the hideous details of these
particular products' inner-workings. This is not to say we don't
appreciate hearing from vendors with their announcements, or even folks'
comparisons of B2B products.
But like I said, I don't run any Yahoo! lists and I don't run this
one - but I would encourage the list owner or administrator to apply
some focus to the topics that will be discussed here.

William,
Would you please expand and expound on your question? I, for one, am
very curious as to what prompted your question.

Puzzled, but asking for my own education.
