Re: QUESTIONS TO EDI team that have implemented AS2 SOFTWARE

I have implemented the Cyclone AS2 product and I will answer your
questions:
1-1) Tech support is great, they answer questions quickly and followup
afterwards.
1-2) Huh??
1-3) I have had responses in much less than 24 hours
1-4) They show a great deal of knowledge and pride in product.
2) Yes, outbound documents are automatically archived.
3) I have a script poll the inbound directory (have been using for more
than a year) and I have never received a partial file. I must assume that
only complete files are made available.
4) NA
5) I have never had a compatibility problem communicating with other AS2
or AS1 partners.
6) This is the same type of process we use and it works very well.
7) We were enticed to check out this product by our first AS2 trading
partner.
8) Software was very easy to install and manage.
9) I don't have the costing available as my manager deals with this.
Installation and test exchanges were done in the space of three days. The
biggest issue we encountered was with our firewall requiring some
configuration changes. Scripts to transfer files added on more day.
10) I did encounter a problem once uploading a profile from WM. I was not
on the most current version of the AS2 software. I updated my software and
within an hour all was well.
11) missing
12) I don't know the internal database used by the software.

[EDI-L] QUESTIONS TO EDI team that have implemented AS2 SOFTWARE
Please no sales represantatives these questions are to IT technical
group (TECH)
QUESTIONS TO EDI team that have implemented AS2 SOFTWARE with one of
the following vendors BTRADE, COVAST, GXS, ISOFT, IPNET
Please provide us your feedback from Your experience with any of the
above AS2 vendors
1. When you have questions regarding products:
1. Do you get a Tech Support to answer right away.
2. Do you get on Tech Support a call-back list.
3. How long does it take to respond to the questions (less than
24, 24 or greater)
4. Are their Tech support knowledgable about the product and their
responses are always helpful
2. Does Software manages file maintenance, for example, if we send a
file to the AS2 Software outbound directory for processing; will
the application archive the file after the process is complete?
Is it easy to recall archived files to resend it?
3. If a script poll the inbound directory every couple of minutes and
process any files that show up are the files complete or partial?
Will it not place the file in the directory unless it is complete?
4. What happens with incomplete documents?
5. How simple or difficult is it to communicate with any other third-
party AS2 package(certified or not)?
6. I would very much appreciate hearing from anyone having experience
with the following architecture
Translator on the M/F and sending the file FTP to the AS2 software on
NT server.
7. How was the decision made to use the AS2 software that you chose?
Who is the AS2 software vendor?
8. How difficult is the setup/configuration and maintenance?
9. If possible to provide ballpark cost and timeframe for the entire
implementation from beginning to end? What was the most complicated
portion of the implementation?
10. Did you experience problems loading certifcates and private keys
which were not generated by the specific AS2 SOFTware?
12. What databases supported by the Software?
Thank you very much for your response in advance. Sharon
