All,
I agree EDI or edi implementations can be well done or poorly. A lot of what
determines whether an EDI implentation is defined as being well or poorly
done depends a lot on the application (edit screen and extract edits, chron
jobs, etc.) and source data. Sure, most of us know this already. Also, by
having one 3PL for different operations, data quality can be optimized and
simplified than if integrating with disparate applications. For example,
consolidation, brokerage, and warehouse management systems can share data to
remove manual data entry redundancy and increase effiencies.
Just some thoughts, as a consideration...
