Carlos,
I have Gentran Director 5 and it was using the ISA ID to recognize the
incoming partner, the ISA ID as the EDI Code. However, I recently needed to
change my setup and have Gentran Director see the GS ID to find the partner.
Therefore, I contacted Sterling Commerce for an Ad-on to change Gentran
Director from seeing the ISA ID as the ID for the partner to the GS ID for
the partner. After installation, I just had to change the EDI Code to the
partner's GS ID and everything works fine. It would seem then that the
default in Gentran Director is ISA until you install the ad-on which makes
the change to GS.

Hello all,

I have a question and I was hoping that maybe one of you would know
it.. Im using Gentran 3.2 soon within the the 3 to 4 moths moving
into Gentran 4.0.

But I have a partner that deals with us and they have to Companies
that buy from us.. Right now we have then set up as two separate
partners with different ID. Now they want to move as to have the same
ID in the ISA for both trading partners, but have a different one in
the GS so it will make them unique.

My question is this, do any of you know where Gentran its looking at
fot he ID. Is it the GS or the ISA that it looks for to make the
determination of who the partner is? I know that I have to tell to
look for a ceratin ID and I do this at the partner set up under the
EDI Code. but is it looking at the ISA or GS that its doing the look
up for the information?

carlos
