Re: <><QUESTION>

William,
Depending on the platform you use, you may want to consider xmlLinguist. This is
a flatfile-to-XML translator, and visa-versa. So, while in-and-of-itself, it
isn't a "any-to-any", but with one additional step it can be. Basically you'd
create one map to map your flatfile into XML. Then you'd create an XML
Stylesheet (XSL) to translate that into the X12 layout you desire (i.e. 850,
etc.). Then using xmlLinguist, translate the resulting XML into the text format
of X12.
I mention platform since it is a Windows application and thus would only run on
a Windows server (preferably Windows 2000). If Windows is acceptable, then it's
price is what makes xmlLinguist very attractive. The Map Editor is only $79.95
USD and the automation engine is free. xmlLinguist coupled with the power of XML
Stylesheets offers maximum flexibility.

Subject: [EDI-L] <EDI-L><QUESTION>
Hi all!!
We need an "any-to-any" translator for our company. We would like to use it
for EDI as well as for mapping data to/from Flat files into other business
applications. We do have TPPC/32 in house currently. We are fine using this
for connectivity/front-end processor - we just need to be able to
create/define/manipulate data and data formats and be able to put them wherever
we like. I was hoping that some of the sales guys and gals who monitor this
site for requests like this will respond. I am already in contact with Extol
and with Asscential. Thanks in advance for your suggestions and advice.
