Novice,

With anything HIPAA there are no straight answers. I would check with your
trading partner (s) that they are indeed going to receive an 837I. If you
are an institution (hospital) and billing Medicaid you may find some states
using an 837P where they should be using an 837I. Your trading partner (s)
may have 'companion' guides which may or may not conform to the X12N HIPAA
standards, I would verify they conform. If the companion guides do not
conform I would verify any translator package you purchase can be
'flexible'.
