Re: Re: UCCNet Guidance - ASP - Verrrrrrryyyyyyy Interestinggggggg

"QRS 832 service, GPC and QRS" all refer to the online catalog service that
Retailers utilize to acquire their vendor UPC numbers and other product
information offered by their suppliers. Well, QRS is also an EDI VAN but in this
context we can refer to their catalog service.
We have a catalog with QRS and SPS Commerce. We have one with GPC "Global
Product Catalog" (hosted by GE, GXS or GEIS depending on what they are going by
this week), but we only have one customer actually listed in the active list.
Everyone else is either QRS or SPS Commerce. The catalog at SPS is far easier to
use than QRS, but we have mandates by our customers to have UPC data available
with QRS.
I'm not as knowledgeable about "WWRE, UCCNET" or the others you asked about as
some others may be.
As far as "EDI over the internet", QRS and GPC have us transmit our 832's
(catalog data files) via dial-up modem, whereas SPS will accept data files via
their web site.
I hope this answers at least some of your questions.

pools and registry-only members of UCCnet
QRS 832 service.
SMB market
GPC and QRS
By the way, what exactly are they? I am assuming this is
about EDI over the internet. Am I way off the mark?
Where can I find more beginner's information?
Thanks and regards,
