Subject: TLE - Run prog on outb file b4 translation
Morning, group. I don't really work that strongly on the communications
side of things, so I need some tips from you guys before I consider doing
the following:

I will be creating a Unix script that will insert some important information
into my application file before it's translated by my map. It's very
important that I do this before and not after translation. I'm on TLE 4.1.4
on a Sun box and right now application files are ftp'd to my system's
/d/edi/prodout directory and then is instantly translated. Is this because
of some setup in Ops center? Or would this be because of some mystery
script that I need to hunt down in the unix system?

What would need to be done in order to have the application file come to my
system, have a Unix script run on it, and then go through normal
translation? I know how this works on the inbound side, but am a little
confused on outbound.

P.S. Hmmmmmm.....Am I barking up the wrong tree? Since the insertion only
involves certain trading partners, should I be looking into user exits
within the map itself instead of an outside Unix script?

Any help in this area is appreciated.

Thanks.
