Hi Stephenie,

Yours was the voice this forum was missing. Thank you.

Just a small note: I do not believe outsourcing was the
root cause of incredible number of lay-offs & jobs lost
in the last few years. It was just a side effect of the steps
corporations were taking in order to survive and stay competitive
in this still-recovering economy. 'Outsourcing' need not be a
zero-sum game, in the long turn it could be a win-win
situation for most (if not all) parties.

At the same time, we need to look at what could and should
be done to take care of people who are affected adversely
(in the short term, hopefully). One thing everyone can do
is to help themselves by keeping pace with current trends and
technologies. Without that not many can survive, outsourcing
does not matter much.

It is easy to blame outsourcing or what/whoever is an
easy/popular target. It comes naturally when we are
frustrated though.

I am not an economist or expert on the subject. I am
open to share opinions from experts and people like myself.

Thanks and regards,
S Vengat
