You guys were absolutely right. After checking the crontab, I see the
script (called EDI100) that looks in the /d/edi/prodout directory every so
often and when it sees a file named something, it translates the file.

I now see that I can put logic into this script, so that for certain trading
partners, an additional Unix script will be run BEFORE translation.

John,
TLE has no setting to automatically and instantly translate a file
in a directory. There's either a mystery demon or cron job that. When
you find this mystery script it's the perfect place to insert the data
you want, assuming you can figure out the trading partners at the point
in time.
