The many articles on Covisint have pointed out that Covisint became
profitable last year and has over 135,000 users in 95 countries
(Networkworldfusion). Covisint may have been a victim of the ongoing US
automaker consolidation and cost reduction efforts.
US automakers continue to loose market share to foreign automakers which has
caused US plant closures and in the case of Saturn a change in its business
model.
The last I heard was that DaimlerChrysler was going to pull out of X12 in
favor of joining the Open Applications Group (OAG). Covisint is a strong
proponent of OAG.
